Lake Charles Facing Another Deficit
Lake Charles spending is going to be tight for another year.
Mayor Randy Roach's administration is really watching every penny spent considering the 2012-2013 budget recently submitted will include a $2.5 million deficit.
The biggest expense, as it has been in the past, is personnel and benefit packages.
The approval of the budget is going to be voted on this Tuesday during a special budget meeting. Lake Charles' fiscal year starts on October 1st.
The projected budget deficit that was submitted last year was expected to be $2.9 million, but it is expected to be $1.3 million when the current year ends.
