Back in October 1999, a 39-year-old woman used an outdoor restroom behind the Lake Charles Civic Center. In that restroom, she was savagely attacked by a man who has never been found. Now, Lake Charles police say they're reopening the case.

The sketch above was drawn that same month. This was the description police gave of the man in 1999:

  • White male
  • Late 20s, early 30s
  • Height, 5'5" to 5'7"
  • Approximately 150 lbs.
  • Light brown hair, blue eyes
  • Wearing a light blue or green uniform-type shirt with red or orange patches on either side of the chest.

The woman took significant injuries during the attack. A suspect was never named in the case. However, DNA testing advances have brought the case back up.

Anyone with information should call the Lake Charles Police Sex Crimes Department at (337) 491-1456 x.5330 or (337) 491-1311. Lt. Kevin Kirkum is handling the case.
