The city of Youngsville will be focusing this week on how to develop land in their community as it continues to grow.

The Youngsville City Council has a meeting scheduled Thursday where a new land-use plan will be introduced.  The plan would seek more buffer space and suggest fences for some areas where new developments might conflict with ones that were already in place.

While the discussion will happen this week, a final vote is not expected until April.

This proposal for a land-use plan is coming up now as other communities in Lafayette Parish are doing similar things.  Several areas are experiencing growth.

Youngsville's population has mushroomed to 8,105 in just that last twenty years.
