Landrieu Concerned Coast Guard Would See Cuts Under New Obama Budget

As the White House has continued submitting budgets that would need Congressional approval, not all Congressional members are happy about the amounts that have been suggested, and one of those people is U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu.
The proposed Coast Guard budget for 2013 is of concern to Senator Landrieu. She is critical of the White House for submitting a budget that she says is more than 3 percent smaller than what the their budget is right now.
The White House has requested $8.4 billion for the Coast Guard for 2013. Landrieu says she is concerned the search and rescue agency will be adversly affected because of the cuts.
