Landry’s Response To President’s Debt Ceiling Speech

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Jeff Landry released the following statement regarding the President’s speech tonight on the debt ceiling:
“Once again, the President has mislead our country by blaming everyone but himself for the debt problem we face. My fellow conservatives and I have listened to the will of the people and worked hard to pass a bill that cuts government spending now, caps spending in the future, and demands a balanced budget. Unfortunately, the President and Senate Democrats are putting partisan politics over the American people. Until the President is honest with Americans, ends his scare tactics to seniors, and actually wants to solve the real driver of our debt – reckless government spending – our country will continue down a road of despair. Mr. President, the American people have made it clear: they want cut, cap, and balance, not your ‘balance’ of tax increases and more spending.”
