Lane Closures On I-49 To Happen Over Next 5 Weeks Throughout Lafayette Parish

Because of striping and pavement work, I-49 has begun seeing alternating nightly lane closures between its interchange at I-10 and the Lafayette/St. Landry Parish line. This is expected to happen until Thursday, September 7.

DOTD officials say the work will happen in both the north and southbound directions for the removal and replacement of striping and pavement markings for both mainline and on/off ramps.

The work Northbound will happen nightly from 8 PM until 6 AM, weather permitting.

The work Southbound will happen nightly from 7 PM until 5 AM, weather permitting.

There will be no closures in effect on Friday and Saturday nights.
