From now through November 5th, some much needed additional repairs are happening on the I-10 Calcasieu River bridge following a bridge inspection and to prevent unplanned closures in the future.

“It’s unfortunate these closures have to occur, and we understand the impact this inconvenience will have,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “However, as our infrastructure across the state ages, these types of unscheduled maintenance efforts will occur more frequently as we try to maintain safe and reliable travel. We are making an effort to ensure I-10 repair work will not be needed during the I-210 repair project.”

The closures will be happening between MP 27-29, weather permitting.

As the chart below shows, the full closures will happen on the weekends to minimize impact. Also, the I-10 closures will not coincide with the I-210 Prien Lake Bridge closures.
