Lane/Road Closures Happening On University Avenue This Week

There is one lane closure and one road closure scheduled this week for University Avenue.

First, today and tomorrow, University Avenue between U.S. 90 and La. 96 will be closed to traffic to facilitate bridge construction. This work will happen each day between 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Second, beginning today and lasting through Thursday, University Avenue in both directions will have alternating lane closures at its intersection with Alcide Dominique Drive/Hollywood Drive. The northbound turn lane from University Avenue to Alcide Dominique Drive and the southbound turn lane from University Avenue to Hollywood Drive will also be closed to traffic. This will happen daily from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Crews will be removing the existing crossover and replace it with a grassy median, as well as, add new curbing.
