There will be several run-off elections in Acadiana, and if you want to register to vote in the December 8th election you need to make your way over to your parish's Registrar of Voters office before it closes today.

Lafayette Parish Registrar of Voters Charlene Menard tells KPEL that there office will close at 4:30 p.m. this evening.  She says if you are registering to vote for the first time you will need,

"something that has your name, correct residence or adress and proof of your date of birth, like if you don't have a Louisiana I.D., you need your birth certificate."

Menard adds that there is another piece of documentation that you will need to bring with you. She says you will also need, "something that has been mailed to you at that physical address, and that would be an electric bill, a medical bill."
