JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) — A search continues in West Tennessee for two Louisiana fugitives, but police have asked agencies nationwide to be on the lookout for them.

Darian "Drake" Pierce and Ricky Wedgeworth were last spotted in Jackson. Wedgeworth is from Memphis and. Pierce is from Bogalusa, La.

The men slipped away from a Baton Rouge, La., police barracks March. 4.

They jumped from a car police spotted in Jackson on Tuesday evening and escaped. The fugitives are also wanted for the killing of an Ohio man whose body was found at a hotel in Bessemer, Ala. Police said the car they were in had been rented to David Michael Cupps, who police said was beaten and strangled.

Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork told The Jackson Sun police continue to follow leads locally.
