The following is a list of the people who have been arrested in St. Mary Parish in the last 24 cycle:

Sylvester Hillery, Jr., 42, 910 Center Street, Vinton, LA was arrested on June 18, 2015 at 12:32 pm on a warrant for simple burglary. On August 25, 2011, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s office began an investigation into a theft at a business on Highway 182 in Amelia. The crime was recorded by video surveillance. Detectives observed two male subjects enter the property and steal over $1,000 in welding equipment from the business. Investigators identified both subjects. One of the men was arrested in October 2011. A warrant was obtained for the second subject, identified as Hillery. Hillery was taken into custody by the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office on the warrant and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Hillery was released after posting $5,000 bond.

Dazjhalun Charles, 18, 113 Diana Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on June 19, 2015 at 2:02 am for failure to dim headlights and possession of marijuana.

Travis Jones, Jr., 18, 613 Janice Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on June 19, 2015 at 2:16 am for possession of drug paraphernalia.  A deputy assigned to patrol the Bayou Vista area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 182 after the driver failed to dim the vehicle’s headlights. The deputy made contact with the driver, Charles, and passenger, Jones, and smelled the strong odor of burning marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located marijuana rolled in cigar that was partially burnt. The deputy also located a container with small fragments of marijuana inside. Following the traffic stop investigation, the deputy released both subjects on summonses to appear in court on September 16, 2015.

Ashley E. Clement, 24, 628 Lagarde Street, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on June 19, 2015 at 2:48 am for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Machele J. Brashear, 28, 130 Fane Street, Houma, LA was arrested on June 19, 2015 at 2:38 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge direct contempt and speeding. A deputy responded to a complaint of two suspicious persons at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with the subjects identified as Clement and Brashear. The deputy received consent to search Clement’s purse and located drug paraphernalia including two syringes and two bent spoons. The deputy also located an active warrant for Brashear. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Clement’s bail is set at $1,500. Brashear’s bail is set at $313.50.
