A budget meeting on Tuesday is revealing what residents in Lafayette and the Parish can expect to see and feel after the 2015-2016 budget ends on October 31.

Lafayette City-Parish Councilman William Theriot joined KPEL’s Rob Kirkpatrick and Bernadette Lee to help break down the proposed $620 million budget.

The highlights of their discussion include:

  • A proposed 9 percent rate hike spread over the next 3 years for LUS customers
  • Property Tax increases on property owners both inside and outside the city of Lafayette
  • A $1 Million cut to parks and recreation (as reported by The Daily Advertiser)
