Movie goers may be subject to being checked by metal detectors, if one Louisiana legislator has her say.

Our news partner, KATC, reports Rep. Barbara Norton, D-Shreveport, plans on introducing her bill that would require movie theaters to use metal detectors to scan patrons upon entering.

Norton will be introducing the bill in March during the 2016 Regular Legislative Session.

The issue hits close to home for Acadiana residents who experienced Lafayette's Grand Theater Shooting last July.
