Lawmakers have given final approval to a bill that would require information to be given to women in abortion clinics before they can terminate a pregnancy. West Monroe Rep. Frank Hoffman says the legislation is now headed to Governor Bobby Jindal's desk. Hoffman says Louisiana is a pro-life state and the measure has strong support. Hoffman says the new law would require abortion clinics to post signs informing women that they can not be forced to have an abortion by anyone. In addition to the signs, the bill would also provide a website created by the Department of Health and Hospitals that would provide further information about pregnancy, termination and alternatives. Opponents have said that the signs are invasive to women and don't give accurate information. Hoffman says this is not at all the case.
