Female lawmakers aren't at the numbers as they used to be. 16 women will be in the house and senate which is down from 23 after this current election. Louisiana Women's Network executive director Cheron Brylski says, "this is a bad trend because bills that will be aimed at women will get less attention."

She says the reason for the drops is due to the string of recent disasters and says that people are more likely to vote for men after a disaster.
