A boil advisory is currently in effect for residents in the Lewisburg-Bellevue area. This includes homes within the area on the east side of Highway 182 from Highway 358 to Harry Guilbeau Road. The advisory will remain in effect until officials with the Lewisburg-Bellevue Water System are notified by The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals’ Office of Public Health that the water supply is safe for consumption.

According to KATC, the water system experienced a main distribution line break on the Saturday morning.

The recommendation is that customers boil water for one full minute in a clean container before drinking it, making ice, using it to brush your teeth or using it to prepare or rinse food. The minute starts once the water has been brought to a rolling boil.
