The Louisiana High School Athletic Association announces changes to its state basketball championships for next season. LHSAA Commissioner Kenny Henderson says the boys and girls state championships will be played during the same week and at the same site, the Century Tel Center in Bossier City.

For years, the LHSAA held its boys and girls basketball championship games on separate weeks and different venues. Henderson says the other major change is to have the semi-final games held in either Monroe, Lake Charles or Hammond.

In years past, the semi-final and championship games were held at the same site. Henderson says that would force fans and parents to possibly make two long trips across the state to get to either Lafayette or
Hammond.
