A new state law lets Louisiana state residents with a valid hunting license hunt nuisance animals such as coyotes and feral hogs at night.

Wildlife and Fisheries spokesperson Adam Einck says anyone taking part in a night hunt is required to notify the local sheriff 24 hours in advance. Einck says wild hogs and coyotes have become a problem that LDWF is trying to get under control.
