Local bartenders took center stage on this edition of “The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” as they talked about a bigger stage that they will compete against each other in – the “Clash of the Cocktails.”

“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which has been airing from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, has given Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about since November of 2013!

“Clash of the Cocktails” will happen Friday, March 27, at The Madison and is sold out. The competition features mixologists from local restaurants who will compete against each other while raising money for a great cause – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana. They’ll go through three rounds to determine who will mix, shake and stir their way to cocktail victory.

Three of the five contestants Candace Cooper of Don’s Restaurant, Myles Bunker of Ruffino’s and Marshall Kemp of Tsunami stopped by the show to discuss the competition and what it’s like to be a bartender – how to become one, their role with customers and what they wished people knew about bartending.
