Don Briggs, President of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, came out with strong words against 15th Judicial District Attorney Keith Stutes' lawsuit on behalf of Vermilion Parish against 45 different oil companies.

In an interview with "Acadiana's Morning News," Briggs sits down with KPEL's Rob Kirkpatrick and Bernadette Lee to discuss how he believes "cookie-cutter lawsuits" like these get started and how he believes "it's about trial lawyers and it's about money."

"There's no settlement; there's no interest in any settlement" said Briggs when explaining his disgust with the lawsuit.

How do the companies defend themselves? What is the impact on an already hurting oil and gas industry? Why aren't there similar lawsuits in Texas? Briggs answers those questions and much more.
