When I look back on 2013 here at Newstalk 96.5 FM KPEL, one word comes to mind: changes. This past year was full of them, especially for me here at the station.

It began fairly early, right after Easter, when me and Nathan Pike were assigned to co-host "Your Afternoon Drive Home" from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., temporarily. It was something I never expected to be doing here, in addition to my reporting duties. But it was a change that became one of the best things that could have happened to me in my radio career. Getting to interview important political figures and leaders in our community, as well as getting to talk about important issues with you, has been an honor and both me and Nathan have appreciated your listenership.

Then, in September, I got the chance to be a part of another big change at KPEL: the way high school football was going to be broadcast on Friday nights. Getting to do color commentary on the Courtesy Automotive Game of the Week all during the high school football season, and being part of a broadcast that featured game breaks and all the information you could want about high school football here in Acadiana was one of the most fun things I have ever gotten to do! And, again, it was an honor to be a part of providing that to you.

In 2014, there are sure to be more changes just around the corner! And I can't wait to see them begin to take shape, not just for me, but for you too!
