As part of the statewide celebration of the 200th anniversary of Louisiana joining the Union, LPB will premiere it's new documentary Louisiana: 200 Years of Statehood on Monday, August 13th.  Today Al Godoy, co-producer of the documentary visited with 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' to discuss the project.

According to Godoy,

"The one-hour documentary focuses on the most significant events in the state’s first two centuries."

Godoy said the documentary spotlights the music of Louisiana from Cajun and Zydeco to country, jazz as well as rhythm and blues.  In addition politics and Louisiana's contribution to winning World War II are touched on.
