A 12-year-old Louisiana boy who caught what may be the state's newest record fish says Vienna sausages had a lot to do with his big haul.

Lawson Boyte pulled a 114-pound catfish from the Mississippi River. The previous state record was 110 pounds.

"It was more luck than it was skill to catch that big fish," Boyte told KNOE. "I think the thing that done it was eating Vienna sausages."

The previous record fish was also caught on the Mississippi River.
