Festival season is here, and we're super excited about one of our favorites - the 65th annual Louisiana Cattle Festival!

Here's a little bit of festival history from their official Facebook Page :

'The festival originated on September 24, 1949 by Roy R. Theriot, Sr., manager of the Chamber of Commerce and former Mayor of Abbeville. Originally known as the Dairy Festival, the name was changed in 1979 to honor all the Cattle Industry of the state.'

The Cattle Festival includes a Baby Show, Cooking Contest, Queen's Pageant, Cattle Livestock Show, Parade, Live Entertainment, Fais Do Do, 5K Run on October 4th, a BB Gun Tournament on October 5, and a Street Fair. And of course, lots of delicious food and drinks, arts and crafts, and family fun! Check out the schedule of events for the 65th annual Louisiana Cattle Festival, ya'll!
