Louisiana Food Stamp Usage On The Rise

The number of people in Louisiana using food stamps is on the rise.

The state's Department of Children and Family Services provides detailed breakdowns by parish and region.

Here in the Acadiana area, food stamp usage is up 27 percent from 2007. D-C-F-S says just under 128-thousand people are collecting foodstaps in the Lafayette area, up from just under 101-thousand in 2007.
