A major piece of legislation which passed the Legislature will be signed into law today by Governor Bobby Jindal.  The bill signing ceremony will also include the Governor signing additional pieces of legislation that make changes to different aspects of the state's educational system.

Governor Jindal plans to visit an elementary school in Baton Rouge today for the signing.  Jindal will be visiting the Catholic School Redemptorist Elementary as he signs legislation changing many ways that public education is administered in the state.  One of the big measures to be signed will allow the state of Louisiana to use state funds to pay for tuition at private schools for some students.

Other legislation to be signed today will include bills that will mean different rules for teacher tenure.  The measure includes action that will give both principals and superintendents the ability to have more flexibility when hiring and firing.
