Jobless rates across the state continue to pace well below the national average. For the second month in a row, the state's non-seasonally adjusted jobless rate improved in August. It fell to 7.3%, down just over a half-percent compared to July.  That's 1.8 % lower than the nationwide rate.  Also, all of Louisiana's metro areas recorded jobless rate declines in August.
