AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Terrance Broadway threw three touchdowns and ran for two more but an onside kick was the biggest play in Louisiana-Lafayette's 35-30 win over Akron on Saturday night.

After retaking the lead 28-24 in the fourth quarter, Hunter Stover recovered his own onside kick, giving the Ragin' Cajuns (2-2) the ball, and Broadway capped the drive with a game-winning 14-yard pass to Darryl Surgent.

Akron (1-3) missed two fourth quarter field goal attempts, and its final TD, a 28-yard pass from Kyle Pohl to Fransohn Bickley, wasn't enough.

The lead changed hands five times and both teams went to the air. Broadway was 25 of 37 for 305 yards passing, with two scoring strikes to Jamal Robinson and one to Surgent. Pohl was 27 of 43 for 321 yards passing, throwing two TDs to Bickley and one, a 77-yarder, to Zach D'Orazio. Akron's Jawon Chisholm had a TD run.
