Louisiana Loses Oil And Gas Rigs Over Week

As the state and the region got good news yesterday about the oil and gas industry, we get news that Louisiana is still losing opportunities in the field. Earlier today, Houston-based oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc. reported the Bayou State lost 4 rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas last week, while our neighbors to the west, Texas, lost 6 rigs. Nationally, though, its better than it was at this point last year with the number of rigs actively exploring nearly 300 more than in 2011.
