Kevin Davis, director of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, says Louisiana's agencies are prepared to respond if we are threatened by a storm.  Davis suggests that all Louisiana citizens make sure that they have their own plans ready to go in the event of storm.

Representatives from the following agencies discussed Louisiana's storm plans :

  • Louisiana State police
  • National Guard
  • Department of Wildlife and Fisheries

General Glenn H. Curtis of the Louisiana National Guard was able to sum up the attitude of those involved in potential rescue operations around the state.  He says the Guard's mission is "one team, one fight."

August and September are traditionally the months when Louisiana sees most of its storm activity.  Hurricane season ends in November.
