Louisiana Roads Reopened After Big Chill

As temperatures rose yesterday roads across Louisiana were reopened as icy conditions dissipated.

According to the DOTD Interstate 10 between Lafayette and Baton Rouge was reopened with traffic moving slowly.

Nearly all major roads in the state have reopened but drivers might still find isolated closures and should still exercise caution.

With warmer weather and melting ice more drivers have ventured out and traffic congestion is effecting travel.

The DOTD and Louisiana State Police urge drivers to leave earlier than usual for destinations, practice defensive driving and patience.
