He has held numerous teaching positions along with management jobs in educational systems across the country, and now John White is overseeing education in Louisiana.  On January 11th he was named as Louisiana's Superintendent of Education.

Today Superintendent White joined "Mornings With Ken and Bernie" to discuss his philosophies on education and his direction for Louisiana's education system.  White comes to the state after serving most recently as the Superintendent of the state-fun Recovery School District in New Orleans.

White told listeners it is imperative that teachers be paid in a manner that is consistent with the private sector where teachers who are more active and productive should be rewarded with more money.  White says he believes 99 percent of Louisiana's teachers are focused on providing their students with the best education possible.  White says it is also important to empower parents so that they may also take a more active role in their children's education, as the end result is a much more productive state.
