Louisiana State Police Offers Real Time Traffic Updates

Louisiana State Police is offering a new real-time traffic notification system. Today on ‘Mornings With Ken and Bernie‘ Trooper Stephen Hammons said the new system is available now. Hammons said,
With the Nixle System you can sign up for traffic notifications and you’ll be notified on your cell phone when local road closures occur and when they are resolved you’ll also be notified. To sign up just go to the Louisiana State Police website and click on the Nixle tab right under the Facebook tab and sign up.
Trooper Hammons is the public information officer for Troop I of the Louisiana State Police based in Lafayette. According to Hammons,
In the past you could log onto LSP.Org to get traffic information but the Nixle system is more immediate because it gives you updates on your cell phone when you may already be on the road which might make the use of a computer inconvenient.
