Louisiana State Prisons Battle Scabies Outbreak

Corrections authorities say more than 120 inmates at two state prisons have contracted scabies.

Spokeswoman Pam Laborde says prisoners at the Elayne Hunt Correctional Center and at the C. Paul Phelps Correctional Center came down with the skin infection. Laborde says the situation is under control, and only a few cases have popped up since Monday.
