When Rick Perry jumped into the Presidential race last weekend, polls showed him as a force to be reckoned with in the Republican primary. Louisiana voters apparently agree. A new poll by U.S. News show the Texas Governor beating Mitt Romney by a wide margin in our state. More than 30% of Republican voters in the state chose Perry. Michelle Bachmann is second, followed by Romney. Louisiana's Presidential Primary is currently scheduled for March 24th, a Saturday.

Meanwhile, Governor Jindal says it's too early to say which presidential candidate he supports.  But he does acknowledge that Rick Perry stands out.  Jindal says Perry has been a good neighbor and "good governor next door" who helped Louisiana after Hurricane Gustav.  Jindal says he wants to see the candidates focus on turning the economy around.
