Louisiana’s Jindal To Campaign With Havenstein
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a possible Republican presidential candidate, is set to join New Hampshire gubernatorial candidate Walt Havenstein this week for education-related campaign stops.
Jindal, vice chairman of the Republican Governors Association, will accompany Havenstein (HAV'-ehn-styn) Friday to Polaris Charter School in Manchester and a visit to US FIRST, Dean Kamen's robotics education program. Jindal has made education policy a cornerstone of his work as governor and recently sued the federal government over the Common Core education standards. Havenstein, who wants to unseat Democratic incumbent Gov. Maggie Hassan, serves as vice chairman of US FIRST. Jindal and Havenstein will also have a private meeting at Havenstein's campaign office.
Jindal comes to New Hampshire the week after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, chairman of the RGA, campaigned with Havenstein.
