Tim Barfield is Louisiana's new revenue secretary, and he is going to make much more than the last person who held the post.

Governor Bobby Jindal's administration decided to a create a new job so that the person they wanted to hire as Louisiana's new revenue secretary would get the money he was seeking for his current position.  There are two titles, and both salaries will be combined into one.

Barfield will now serve as secretary and as an executive counsel to the Jindal administration.  The job was created so that salary limitations would not prevent Barfield from getting the salary that he was seeking.

Barfield will make 250-thousand dollars a year.
