LSP Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Eunice

Louisiana State Police have been called in to investigate an officer-involved shooting in Eunice.

Our news partners at KATC reported Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said officers responded to a hostage situation near the intersection of Ninth and Park Streets around noon.

Fontenot confirmed gunfire was exchanged and the suspect was hit. No officers were injured.

The extent of the suspect's injuries are not fully known as of yet.

Earlier, Eunice Elementary and Eunice Junior High were under lockdowns, but those have since been lifted.
