LSU Baseball Falls To Florida, 11-7, As Gators Complete Sweep
The fourth-ranked LSU Tigers dropped the final game of a three-game, weekend, SEC baseball series on Sunday, falling 11-7, to the Florida Gators in Gainesville, Florida.
The win by Florida completed a three-game series sweep, while extending LSU's losing streak to a season-high four games.
The Gators had two four-run innings, including one in the third, and one in the fifth, as they went on to the four-run win.
Taylor Gushue and Braden Mattson collected two hits apiece for Florida, while Harrison Bader hit his first home run of the year.
In a losing cause for the Tigers, Conner Hale and Jake Fraley had two hits each, while Sean McMullen and Chris Sciambra both homered.
Freshman left-hander Kirby Snead (1-0) earned the win for Florida, tossing 4.2 two- innings, with one walk and no strikeouts.
LSU starter Zac Person (1-1) was charged with the loss, allowing five runs on four hits in 2.2 innings, along with two walks and two strikeouts.
With the win, Florida improved to 19-6, overall, and 6-3 in SEC play, while LSU fell to 20-8-1, overall, and 3-5-1 in league play.
The Tigers return to action on Wednesday night, when they host McNeese St.
