The seventh-ranked LSU Tigers dropped the middle game of a three-game, weekend, SEC baseball series on Friday night, falling to the 10th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels, 5-1, in Oxford, Mississippi.

The win by Ole Miss evens-up the series, 1-1, after LSU took the opening game of the series, 4-3, in 13 innings, on Thrsday.

Rebels' centerfielder Auston Bousfield went 4-for-4, with a home run and three RBI's, as Ole Miss out-hit the Tigers, 10-7.

Christian Trent (5-0) earned the victory for Ole Miss, allowing seven hits and no earned runs over seven inning of work.

Jared  Poche' (6-3) was charged with the loss for LSU, allowing seven hits and four runs, including two earned runs, in six innings on the bump.

With the victory, Ole Miss improved to 30-10, overall,  and 10-7 in conference play, while LSU fell to 29-10-1, overall, and 9-7-1 in league play.

The rubber game of the series is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
