The 7th ranked LSU baseball Tigers showed they are for real, by sweeping sixth-ranked Cal-State Fullerton in a three game series at the Box. LSU won a pair of one-run games on Friday and Saturday and then belted the Titans with a 10 to 2 win on Sunday. Coach Paul Mainieri says they played great baseball all weekend. LSU played an aggressive style of baseball, which forced Cal-State to commit ten errors during the three-game series. On Sunday, LSU stole five bases in the second-inning on their way to scoring five runs in that frame. For the afternoon, center fielder Mikie Mahtook drove in 4 runs. LSU's starting pitching was also solid in the sweep. Senior right-hander Ben Alsup allowed just one earned run in six and two-thirds of an inning to get the win on Sunday.(The Tigers visit Nicholls State on Wednesday.)
