LSU Drops Overtime Decision To South Carolina, 82-73

The LSU Tiger men's basketball team dropped an SEC home game on Wednesday night, falling, 82-73, in overtime, to the South Carolina Gamecocks, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.
South Carolina led at the half, 35-33, before LSU brought the game into overtime by out-scoring the Gamecocks, 36-34, in the second half.
In the extra period, South Carolina out-scored the Tigers, 13-4, to come away with the nine-point win.
The Gamecocks out-shot LSU from the field, 45%-41%, and also forced 21 turnovers by the Tigers.
Michael Carrera led South Carolina in scoring, with a game-high 23 points, while Anthony Hickey paced LSU in a losing cause, with 18 points.
With the victory, the Gamecocks improved to 11-5 overall, and 1-2 in SEC play, while the Tigers fell to 9-5 overall, and 0-3 in league play.
LSU returns to action on Saturday night, when they travel to take on Georgia.
