The LSU Tigers were eliminated from the postseason SEC Tournament on Friday night, after falling to the Kentucky Wildcats, 85-67, in quarterfinal action at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia.

The win advances Kentucky into the semifinals, while the loss puts an end to LSU’s hopes of an NCAA Tournament berth.

The Wildcats led at halftime, 42-32, and then outscored the Tigers, 43-35, in the second half, as they went on to the 18-point win.

Kentucky out-shot LSU from the field, 47%-41%, while also finishing with a 33-22 rebound advantage.

James Young led the way for Kentucky, with 21 points and 6 rebounds, while Julius Randle added 17 points and 16 boards.

In a losing cause for LSU, Johnny O'Bryant scored 18 points, while Andre Stringer added 14.

With the victory, Kentucky improved to 23-9, overall, while LSU fell to 19-13.

The Tigers will now await word on a possible NIT bid.
