LSU Hosts Arkansas – Game Preview
The 9th-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Saturday evening, when coach Les Miles’ squad plays host to the Arkansas Razorbacks in an important SEC match-up.
The game marks the second of four conference games to close the regular season for LSU.
LSU, who lost to Alabama last Saturday, 30-16, had their seven-game season-opening win streak snapped, as they fell to 7-1, overall, and 4-1 in SEC play.
Offensively, LSU is averaging 36.0 points, 430.5 total yards, 277.2 rushing yards, and 153.2 passing yards per game, while allowing 23.5 points, 330.6 total yards, 113.2 rushing yards, and 217.4 passing yards a contest, defensively.
LSU is led by sophomore running back Leonard Fournette, who has piled up 1,447 rushing yards, including 16 touchdowns, this season.
Arkansas, who defeated Ole Miss, 53-52, in overtime, last Saturday, will come into the contest at 5-4, overall, while standing at 3-2 in SEC play.
The Razorbacks are averaging 34.8 points per game, along with 472.6 yards, including 280.3 passing yards and 192.3 rushing yards, while allowing 29.4 points, 413.0 total yards, including 283.6 passing yards and 129.4 rushing yards.
Arkansas is paced by junior running back Alex Collins, who has rushed for 1,068 yards, along with 12 touchdowns.
LSU leads the all-time series, 37-21-2, but Arkansas won last year, defeating the Tigers, 17-0, in Baton Rouge.
