The third-ranked LSU Tigers return to the diamond on Friday evening, when coach Paul Mainieri's squad plays host to the Auburn Tigers, in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, SEC series, at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

LSU is 19-2 overall overall, and 2-1 in SEC play, while Auburn will come in at 15-6 overall, and 0-3 in league play.

Offensively, LSU is currently second in the SEC in hitting, batting a .304 as a team, with 18 home runs, while Auburn is currently 11th in the 14-team league, batting a .269, with five homers.

Pitching-wise, LSU ranks seventh in the SEC, with a 2.70 team ERA, while Auburn is currently tenth, at a 3.16 ERA.

LSU leads the all-time series 87-68, but Auburn has won the last three series, winning two games in each series, with the last seven games being decided by two runs or less.

First-pitch on Friday night is scheduled for 7 o'clock, with a Saturday night start time slated for 6:30 pm, and a 1 o'clock game time for the series finale on Sunday afternoon.
