At the beginning of last weekend five Louisiana college baseball teams had a chance to move on the in the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament. That number of teams has now dwindled to one. The LSU Tigers will have to win against the Rice Owls in a game scheduled at 4 PM today.

Monday Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns made their exit from the tournament dropping two games to the Arizona Wildcats. That victory by Arizona will send them to Starkville Mississippi next weekend for the Super Regional Round.

Southeastern Louisiana had a must win game on Monday afternoon against Rice. The Owls obliterated the Lions by a score of 15-0. In the Monday night game Rice found themselves in a must win situation against LSU. The Owls got the job done again dropping the Tigers by a score of 10-6.

The winner of today's LSU versus Rice contest will face the winner of the North Carolina State versus Coastal Carolina game. That game was suspended by rain with two outs left in the top of the 9th with Coastal Carolina clinging to their last two outs. They were trailing by a score of 5-3 when the rains came shortly after midnight.
