LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda was the highest paid assistant coach in college football last season. Now, the gap between he and the next highest paid assistant is even wider.

After Texas A&M courted Aranda with a big offer to becomes the Aggies DC, Aranda will remain with the Tigers after getting a big bump in pay, as first reported by Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

Aranda, 41, signed a new 4 year deal worth $10 million, at $2.5 million a year.

Before his raise today, Aranda was set to earn $1.85 million over the next two years.

Aranda now makes more than all but 47 head football coaches in college football.
