Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns have one more game in the regular season this Saturday as they face Troy at Cajun Field. After the  final gun of that game it appears as if the Cajuns' season will come to an end. There will not be a second line parade in the French Quarter this year unless something really strange happens.

The McNeese Cowboys continue their run through the FCS playoffs on Saturday. They will be hosting a familiar foe Sam Houston State.  Game time is set for shortly after 6pm at Cowboy's Stadium in Lake Charles. The Cowboys defeated Sam Houston State earlier this year in conference play and they hope to make that happen again in the second round of the FCS playoffs.

Two other Louisiana schools have finished their regular football season and are awaiting to see what post season offers might come their way. Those schools are the LSU Tigers of the Southeastern Conference and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs of Conference USA.

The LSU Tigers finished their season with a regular season record of 8 wins  and  3 losses. They had their opening game with McNeese cancelled because of weather. Speculation has been rather high that LSU might meet Coach Les Miles alma mater Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.  However, the conference championship games that happen this weekend will have a lot to do with how the bowl season plays out for the Tigers.

The Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech finished their regular season with a record of 8 wins and 4 losses. They have been rumored to be a good fit for the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. That selection will have to wait on the outcome of the Conference USA Championship game which will feature Southern Mississippi and Western Kentucky. The winner of that game will go to the Liberty Bowl.

Bowl invitations and announcements are expected to be made official on Sunday December 6th following the final regular season and conference championship games. How the bowl season will shake out will also depend on the College Football Selection Committee's Choices for the four teams that will make  up the play off for the National Title game.
