The LSU Tigers return to action on Saturday evening, when coach Johnny Jones’ squad travel to Nashville, Tennessee to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in the SEC opener for both teams.

Tipoff time is set for 8 o’clock.

LSU, who fell to Wake Forest, 77-71, on Tuesday night, is 7-5 on the season, while Vanderbilt, who beat Western Michigan on Wednesday night, 86-61, last Tuesday, is currently 8-4.

The Tigers are outscoring the opposition, 83.8/76.2, and outshooting them from the floor, 48%/43%, while being outrebounded, 39.4/38.9.

LSU is led by freshman forward Ben Simmons, who is averaging 19.3 points, to go along with 13.0 rebounds-per-game, and senior guard Keith Hornsby, who is averaging 16.4, and 2.4, respectively.

Vanderbilt is outscoring opponents, 79.6/61.8, while outshooting the opposition, 48%/36%, and holding down a 39.1/36.4 rebounding advantage.

The Commodores are paced by sophomore guard Wade Baldwin IV, who is averaging 14.7 points, to go along with 3.8 rebounds contest.

Vanderbilt leads the all-time series, 60-52, but LSU has won the last four meetings, including a 79-75 road win a season ago.
