Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the state's upcoming carnival season, how Mardi Gras celebrations have spread to all of Louisiana and the latest news in promoting tourism, specifically highlighting the our area.

Nungesser tells KEEL listeners that his job is not only "the best job in America during carnival season, but all year round." Then, the Lieutenant Governor continues, "It's the first year that state tourism has really promoted Mardi Gras all over the state of Louisiana. It gives people a chance to try something new in a different city or town. And we're going to expand that next year. We have lots of family friendly, cost-effective destinations all over Louisiana."

Nungesser also talks about a recent trip to Shreveport and plans in place to promote in-state "staycations" to parts of the state other than New Orleans.

The former Plaquemines Parish commissioner also mentions the upcoming Grammy Awards and the numerous Louisiana musicians nominated. "We've got something in the ground here that grows so much talent. More Grammy nominees per capita than anywhere else in the world!"
